Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) – TKR Institute of Management & Science (TKRIMS)
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at TKR Institute of Management & Science (TKRIMS) is established to uphold a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The Committee is constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) and the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The ICC is committed to preventing sexual harassment, promoting gender sensitivity, and ensuring that every member of the TKRIMS community is treated with dignity, equality, and respect. The Committee provides a confidential, impartial, and transparent mechanism for addressing complaints while ensuring fairness, sensitivity, and adherence to the principles of natural justice.
Objectives of the Internal Complaints Committee
- To provide a safe, secure, and harassment-free campus environment.
- To prevent incidents of sexual harassment through awareness and education.
- To create awareness about the provisions of the POSH Act and institutional policies.
- To encourage prompt reporting of complaints without fear of retaliation.
- To ensure timely, confidential, and impartial redressal of grievances.
- To promote gender equality, mutual respect, and ethical conduct across the campus.
- To foster an institutional culture based on dignity, inclusiveness, and accountability.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Internal Complaints Committee performs the following key functions:
- Receives and addresses complaints related to sexual harassment.
- Conducts fair, impartial, and confidential inquiries in accordance with applicable laws and institutional procedures.
- Recommends appropriate actions to the competent authority based on inquiry findings.
- Organizes awareness programmes on workplace ethics, gender sensitization, and legal rights.
- Promotes preventive measures to eliminate harassment and discrimination.
- Ensures confidentiality throughout the complaint handling process.
- Monitors compliance with statutory regulations and institutional policies.

Complaint Redressal Mechanism
The Internal Complaints Committee follows a structured, confidential, and transparent process for grievance redressal.
The process includes:
- Submission of the complaint to the Internal Complaints Committee.
- Preliminary assessment and acknowledgement of the complaint.
- Confidential inquiry conducted by the Committee in accordance with statutory guidelines.
- Opportunity for all parties to present their perspectives.
- Submission of recommendations to the competent authority.
- Appropriate action and follow-up while maintaining confidentiality.
The Committee ensures that every complaint is addressed fairly, without bias or discrimination, while protecting the dignity and privacy of all individuals involved.
